SD-Europe Events

Building our Community

Each year, Spiritual Directors from around Europe (and a few of their Associate Member friends) make a pilgrimage to one of our home-countries. These annual gatherings are at the heart of the  SD-Europe community.

During these Annual Meetings, the local team introduce the spirituality of the hosting country and meals shared together will give us the opportunity to try the local cuisine. During the gatherings, we enjoy the company and talents of our fellow members. Good practices are shared, joys and sorrows heard. There is space for both silence and conversation.

During the main gathering, the SD-Europe Annual General Meeting gives members a chance to help to steer and develop our community. There are also elections of those who offer to serve SD-Europe in working to fulfill these visions are appointed as members of Executive Committee are chosen.

In addition to these onsite meetings, there are online events and, in some countries, smaller local gatherings to allow members share and support each and other in growing.

Our next Members’ Day will be Friday, February 13th, at 12 UTC.

It is a workshop on our own experiences of God's absence or silence,

and how we might help others with that experience.

Zoom link will be sent to you closer to the event.

    St Beuno's 2026

    "God in All Things

SD-Europe members will gather together for some days to share the joy and challenges of the ministry of spiritual direction.
We will be nourished by the wonderful surroundings of St Beuno's jesuit sprituality centre with beautiful walks and views. Most of all the shared presence, prayer and silence will enrich our coming together to be send to serve within our ministries.

Participation fee 75€ for event ticket.

    Book your flights

Book accommodation now directly with St Beuno's.

It's time to book the flights or trains. The best is to buy a ticket for a  flight that arrives early in the afternoon, and a flight back later in the afternoon. On Wednesday the 29th April our program starts at 6.30 PM with a supper. We are allowed to come to St. Beunos before this, but our rooms will be ready only at  4.00/16.00 hrs.

There's a retreat ending that day, and this means we must be quiet in the house.

If you are coming early that day, you can order lunch at 12.45. The order must be placed at least 2 weeks before your arrival, and it costs an extra 15 pounds. If you know you'll need a lunch, let St. Beunos know this before you pay their balance (which is due one month beforehand). The lunch is quiet too.

The nearest train station is RHYL. Costal Taxis Rhyl can be contacted     (+44 0)1745 366666 and book a taxi beforehand to share. Cost is 25 pounds.
