    The remarkable mural of the Risen Christ in the cathedral is with me as this day draws to a close. At morning prayer this morning and at communion this evening, the Risen Christ was amongst us by His Spirit and through this mural. It is as if Jesus is walking out of the Icelandic landscape towards us, his arms outstretched in welcome, ready to embrace each one of us. I felt his love, warmth, compassion and joy looking as I gazed upon his face. 

    For those of you dear companions who are not able to be with us, I pray that as you look at this image you will feel something of the Risen Lord”s warmth, compassion and joy. May He fill you with his peace and surround you with his love this night and in the days ahead.

    Natalie, I strongly relate with your experience. As I was visiting here first time 2019 preparing this event, the mural was one key factor both to convince us that this is the place and also the theme we should have for this long longed gathering in Iceland.
